Osceola and Shelby-Rising City are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Osceola Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Shelby-Rising City Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Osceola's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games.

In Thursday's Canine Competition, Osceola prevailed. They walked away with a 57-48 victory over Heartland on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Shelby-Rising City came up short against Thayer Central on Tuesday and fell 57-48.

Osceola will need to focus on slowing down Dalton Pokorney, one of several Shelby-Rising City players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 13 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Pokorney has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last nine times he's played. Noah Thelen was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Shelby-Rising City now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Osceola, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.

Osceola beat Shelby-Rising City 69-60 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Osceola since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
