Roanoke Rapids is 9-1 against Bunn since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets will face off against the Bunn Wildcats at 5:45 p.m. Roanoke Rapids will be strutting in after a win while Bunn will be coming in after a defeat.

Roanoke Rapids took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Southeast Halifax, posting a 64-28 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Yellowjackets considering their 19-point performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Bunn's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Southern Nash by a score of 44-41.

Roanoke Rapids will need focus on slowing down Makayla Richardson, one of several Bunn players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 16 points and three steals. That was a full 39% of Bunn's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ny'Lah Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Bunn's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Roanoke Rapids, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
