The biggest upset of the week belonged to Louisiana, who defeated 275th ranked Highland, 56-0.
Palmyra added to the longest winning streak in Clarence Cannon this week by beating Monroe City, 47-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Caleb Kizer provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Palmyra beat the Panthers.
Kizer was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 162 yards on 8 carries as Kevin Miles' team lost to Centralia. Josh Hultz also contributed to the rushing game with 149 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Tigers' Craig Smith and Watts have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-3 quarterback Smith has thrown for 1,482 yards this season, while Watts has 38 catches for 869 yards. Trace Windsor from South Shelby leads the league in rushing with 1,015 yards.
The Panthers' Kizer needs only 11 yards against Mark Twain next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 83 carries Kizer has put up 989 yards this year.
A big matchup in Clarence Cannon this week will be when Palmyra takes on the Tigers. The Panthers are currently in first, while Mark Twain is in 10th.
The Panthers made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,970 from 4,651. The improvement was the result of a 49-14 victory over Macon last week.
