Basketball Game Preview: Lake Highlands Wildcats vs. Pearce Mustangs

The Lake Highlands Wildcats will square off against the Pearce Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Pearce is hoping to do what Irving couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Lake Highlands' winning streak, which now stands at three games. Lake Highlands simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Irving 94-40. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Pearce's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Berkner by a score of 67-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since December 6, 2024.

Pearce's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Lake Highlands, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.

Lake Highlands came out on top in a nail-biter against Pearce when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 47-45. Does Lake Highlands have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pearce turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
