Softball Recap: Oldham County Victorious

Oldham County won against Boone County on Tuesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Oldham County Colonels didn't even let the Boone County Rebels on the board, marking the Oldham County Colonels' second-straight 14-0 shutout. The Colonels haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Kailyn Claybern looked comfortable as she pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Oldham County let Aubrey Batts and Jozie Lashley run wild. Batts went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Lashley went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Lashley has been hot, having posted at least one home run the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Wirth, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Oldham County lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least three home runs every time they've taken the field this season.

Oldham County's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Boone County, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Oldham County will welcome Fern Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Boone County, they will head out on the road to square off against Campbell County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
