Football Game Preview: Hampton Talbots vs. Mars Fightin' Planets

Hampton is 2-8 against Mars since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Talbots will face off against the Fightin' Planets at 7:00 p.m. Hampton will be strutting in after a victory while Mars will be coming in after a loss.

Hampton's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They really took it to Knoch for the full four quarters, racking up a 38-0 win. That looming 38-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Talbots yet this season.

Meanwhile, Mars suffered their biggest defeat since October 11, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against McKeesport, falling 56-31. The Fightin' Planets haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

The victory made it two in a row for Hampton and bumps their season record up to 4-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.5 points over those games. As for Mars, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Hampton was dealt a bruising 35-0 defeat at the hands of Mars when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Talbots, Eric Kasperowicz (who rushed for 187 yards and one touchdown while picking up 11.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 69 yards and one TD) won't be suiting up this time.
