Tesoro is 7-2 against Capistrano Valley since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Tesoro will look to defend their home field against Capistrano Valley at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Tesoro fell victim to Los Altos and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Conquerors.

Payton Dedo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Those hits were her first of the season.

On the hitting side, Tesoro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Fraser, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Ellie Buffington also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Capistrano Valley's offense. They fell 5-0 to Mission Viejo on Thursday. That makes it the first time this season the Cougars have let down their home crowd.

Cassidy Stinnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Capistrano Valley and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Tesoro, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Tesoro took their victory against Capistrano Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 9-3. Does Tesoro have another victory up their sleeve, or will Capistrano Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
