Basketball Recap: Mount Pisgah Christian Comes Up Short

Mount Pisgah Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Mount Vernon Mustangs, falling 83-49. The Patriots were probably out for revenge after losing 77-39 to them when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mount Pisgah Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Mount Vernon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season.

Mount Pisgah Christian will be playing at home against St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Mount Pisgah Christian likes a good challenge. As for Mount Vernon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-63 victory against Darlington on the 18th.
