Basketball Preview: South Bend vs. Onalaska Loggers
South Bend is 0-7 against the Loggers since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. South Bend will head out on the road to face off against the Onalaska Loggers at 7:00 p.m. South Bend is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, South Bend was beaten by the Seagulls 75-45. South Bend has not had much luck with the Seagulls recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 86-33, which was the final score in Onalaska's tilt against the Mules on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Onalaska can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 312th, while the Mules are ranked 85th).
South Bend's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Onalaska, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
South Bend was taken down by the Loggers 64-36 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can South Bend avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
