Basketball Recap: Desert Hills Thunder vs. Hurricane Tigers
Even though the Hurricane Tigers scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, the Desert Hills Thunder still came out on top. Desert Hills secured a 65-60 W over the Tigers. Winning may never get old, but Desert Hills sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Eli Allred was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points and 1 assist. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Mason Rasmussen was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Hurricane lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cayleb Jackman, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Jackman hasn't dropped below four blocks for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rj Hurst, who scored 17 points.
Desert Hills' win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Hurricane, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Crimson Cliffs the next time they take the court. Desert Hills will host the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
