Football Recap: Banning Skates Past Huntington Park with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Banning over Huntington Park in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Pilots blew the Spartans out of the water with a 41-6 final score. Given the Pilots' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Spartans are ranked 786th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alonzo Ruiz had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 94 yards and three TDs on only seven carries. Those 94 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Banning didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ruiz and Ivan Gonzalez. Kody Galloway was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 14 total tackles.

Banning has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 42.5 points this season. As for Huntington Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
