Baseball Recap: Bloomington North Triumphs

It was a proper cat-fight when Bloomington North challenged Hagerstown on Saturday. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Tigers 3-2. While the Cougars didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Bloomington North got a great performance from Jake Flynn as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Flynn a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Chris Barnett, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Bloomington North's record is now 7-3. As for Hagerstown, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Bloomington North beat the Tigers by a score of 13-6 later that day.
