Basketball Recap: Northview Comes Up Short

If Northview was riding high fresh off their 70-34 takedown of Findlay last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Northview Wildcats fell just short of the Southview Cougars by a score of 49-47 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while the Cougars are ranked 119th).

Northview has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Southview, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-4.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats duke it out with the Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitmer knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully Northview likes a good challenge. Southview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
