Basketball Recap: St. Charles Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

St. Charles was the 54-45 winner over Lackey when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. St. Charles fell to the Lackey Chargers 53-47.

St. Charles' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamari Rogers, who went 6 of 15 en route to 19 points. Rogers has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was JoVaughn Green, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Isaiah Mansaray was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 15 en route to 24 points for Lackey. Malik Gordon was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

St. Charles' loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4. As for Lackey, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

St. Charles didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-67 defeat against Leonardtown on the 29th. Lackey has also already played their next game, a 61-43 win against Thomas Stone on the 29th.
