Soccer Recap: Wellington Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wellington can now relate to. While the 4-4 score might suggest a draw, it was the Palm Beach Central Broncos who were credited with the win on Friday. The Palm Beach Central Broncos got it done in the shootout by posting nine goals to the Wellington Wolverines' eight. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wolverines came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Broncos are ranked 290th).

Wellington's loss dropped their record down to 11-3-3. As for Palm Beach Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-10-3.

Wellington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palm Beach Central, they will challenge Leonard at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Palm Beach Central will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each match than the last.
