Recap: Timothy Christian Trojans vs. Bishop McNamara Fightin' Irish
After flying high against the Illinois Math & Science Academy Titans on Saturday, the Timothy Christian Trojans came back down to earth. Timothy Christian ended up on the wrong side of a tough 62-37 walloping at the hands of Bishop McNamara on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Timothy Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Bishop McNamara is ranked 60th).
Timothy Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elisabeth Van Den Berg, who scored 10 points. Another player making a difference was Sami Drye, who scored 12 points.
Timothy Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Bishop McNamara, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Timothy Christian will head out on the road to face off against Wheaton Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop McNamara, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Marist at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th.
