Baseball Recap: Granite Bay's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Granite Bay won the last time they faced Oak Ridge and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Grizzlies came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 8-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Grizzlies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Granite Bay got a great performance from Drew Galbaugh as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. The Grizzlies are 2-1 when Galbaugh posts eight or more strikeouts, but 7-13 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Jones, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenden Pops, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Granite Bay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Granite Bay's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Oak Ridge, they dropped their record down to 10-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Granite Bay beat the Trojans by a score of 8-3 on Thursday.
