Football Game Preview: Camden County Bruins vs. Perquimans Pirates + How To Watch

The Camden County Bruins will venture away from home to square off against the Perquimans Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Perquimans took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Camden County, who comes in off a win.

Camden County took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 35-22 victory over Bertie. The Bruins' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Javon Riddick went supernova, rushing for 317 yards and two TDs while picking up 15.9 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 141 rushing yards per game.

Riddick was just one part of a punishing run game: Camden County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 357 rushing yards. That's a new trend for the Bruins: they were averaging 80.5 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five contests they've averaged 216.3.

Meanwhile, Perquimans came up short against Manteo on Friday, falling 27-6. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Roy Powell, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Camden County's record now sits at 3-4. As for Perquimans, they now also have a losing record of 3-4.

Camden County ended up a good deal behind Perquimans when the teams last played back in August of 2024, losing 30-14. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
