Volleyball Recap: Christian Brothers Academy Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Christian Brothers Academy had taken Marlboro down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Colts took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on April 4th.

While Christian Brothers Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22.

Sean Kennedy paced Christian Brothers Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Kennedy got some help from Jake Tarzian and his 17 assists. Kennedy and Tarzian didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Christian Brothers Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6. As for Marlboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Christian Brothers Academy and Marlboro will both be playing Middletown South the next time they take the court. The Colts will head out to face the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
