It was a good run, but Franklin County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Cheatham County Central Cubs by a score of 8-7.
K McGowan and Carlie Olds stepped up to the plate in a big way. McGowan scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Olds scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Avery Lofton, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Cheatham County Central, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Looking ahead, Franklin County will play host again on Saturday to welcome Blackman, where first pitch is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. The Flyers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blaze have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
