Baseball Game Preview: Western International Cowboys vs. Edison Academy Pioneers

The Western International Cowboys are taking a road trip to challenge the Edison Academy Pioneers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Western International is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Western International didn't have quite enough to beat West Bloomfield and fell 5-4. The Cowboys have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Julian Contreras was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Edison Academy's offense. They lost 6-0 to Fenton on Friday. The Pioneers' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Western International's defeat dropped their record down to 19-9-2. As for Edison Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 22-9.

Western International might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from Edison Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Cowboys avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
