Softball Recap: Nazareth Area Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Nazareth Area had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hempfield Area Spartans on Tuesday, sneaking past 6-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Blue Eagles, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Kylie Grover spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Emma Infantino was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alina Weaver, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Nazareth Area's win bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Hempfield Area, they moved to 25-2 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Nazareth Area nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
