Basketball Recap: Rockledge Comes Up Short

Rockledge and Palm Bay squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Rockledge had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Palm Bay Pirates and fell 69-6. The Raiders have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Jazylle Bradley was Rockledge's leading scorer, having posted six points. Shaniya Jones held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palm Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordyn Baker, who went 7 of 15 on her way to 17 points along with eight boards and four steals. That's the most rebounds Baker has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Phantasia Lauriston, who went 5 for 11 to rack up 11 points in addition to seven assists and six boards.

Rockledge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Palm Bay, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 19-7.

Rockledge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Palm Bay, they have already played their next matchup, a 102-15 win against Eau Gallie on the 8th.
