Football Recap: Grossmont Starts Season with Win Against Patrick Henry + How To Watch

Grossmont had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Patrick Henry Patriots 42-14. This was payback for the Foothillers, who suffered a 77-48 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tyler Holmes went supernova, throwing for 179 yards and four TDs, while also rushing for 143 yards and one touchdown while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Those 143 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. 91 of Holmes' passing yards were hauled in by Randy Ballard, who also brought in three receiving touchdowns.

Grossmont's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Ryder Robinson was especially locked on to Patrick Henry's QB and sacked him three times. Grossmont received some extra help from Colton Burke, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Coming up, Grossmont will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Patrick Henry, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against La Jolla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
