Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Camp Point Central). Everything went their way against the Rushville-Industry Rockets on Wednesday as Camp Point Central made off with an 18-11 victory. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Caleb Petersen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. Petersen was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Camp Point Central got a massive performance out of Briggs Wiskirchen, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Nate Peters was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Camp Point Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rushville-Industry only posted a batting average of .355.

The win got Camp Point Central back to even at 2-2. As for Rushville-Industry, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Camp Point Central will head out to take on Brown County at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Rushville-Industry, they will welcome Macomb at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Rushville-Industry is facing Macomb at the right time seeing as Macomb is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
