Basketball Recap: North Valley Christian Academy Takes a Loss

If North Valley Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 65-17 takedown of Highland Prep West on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The North Valley Christian Academy Lions had to suffer through a 56-28 loss at the hands of the Benson Bobcats. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, North Valley Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chardonnay Pryce posted 14 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pryce has scored all season. Triniti Terracciano was another key player, putting up four points and five steals.

Benson was led to victory by Kaylei Taylor and Jordan Rone. Taylor dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards, while Rone dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. That's the most points Rone has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Karris Taylor, who put up four points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

North Valley Christian Academy now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Benson, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the North Valley Christian Academy Lions face off against the Kingman Academy Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kingman Academy will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something North Valley Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Benson has already played their next game (against Desert Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
