Soccer Recap: Middlesex Comes Up Short

After flying high against King & Queen Central last Wednesday, Middlesex came back down to earth. The Chargers fell 3-1 to the Mathews Blue Devils on Monday. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Middlesex couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Wyatt St. Louis, who's now up to 14 this season.

Middlesex's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-2. As for Mathews, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Middlesex will take on rival West Point at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mathews is set to square off against their familiar foe King William at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Mathews' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while King William have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
