Mt. Mansfield has gone 6-1 against Rice Memorial recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Green Knights at 6:00 p.m.

Mt. Mansfield is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Bellows Free Academy, who was ranked third at the time (Mt. Mansfield was ranked seventh). The Cougars came up short against the Bobwhites/Comets on Monday, falling 3-0. The Cougars have struggled against the Bobwhites/Comets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Rice Memorial entered their tilt with South Burlington on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Wolves.

Rice Memorial had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 25-14, 26-24.

Rice Memorial now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Mt. Mansfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Mt. Mansfield took their win against Rice Memorial in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
