Baseball Game Preview: Dillon Wildcats vs. Loris Lions

For the second straight game, Dillon will face off against Loris. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Dillon Wildcats take on Loris Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Dillon is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Dillon came up short against Loris and fell 7-3.

For Loris' part, Aiden Suggs was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Suggs has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Gore, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Loris: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

Loris has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. Dillon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
