Basketball Recap: Deshler Comes Up Short

After flying high against Silver Lake on Friday, Deshler came back down to earth. The Dragons had to suffer through a 69-37 loss at the hands of the Tri County Trojans. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Deshler's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Easton Nash, who posted 11 points and six boards, and Peighton Henry, who put up four points and seven rebounds. Henry is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Drew Siems had a dynamite game For Tri County., shooting 55% from the field to rack up 33 points in addition to six boards and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Siems has scored at least a third of the Trojans' points. Another player making a difference was Zach Vossler, who earned eight points and ten rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Deshler fell to 2-1. As for Tri County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Deshler and Tri County will both be playing Southern the next time they take the court. The Trojans will host the Raiders on Friday, while the Dragons will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
