Volleyball Recap: Liberty Falls Despite Big Games from Mia Chiu and Cadence Drumm

Liberty lost against Hemet back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bison fell 3-1 to the Bulldogs. While the Bison didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-20 in the first set.

Liberty started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-17.

Liberty's loss came despite strong showings from Cadence Drumm and Mia Chiu. Drumm had 20 digs and two aces, while Chiu had 18 digs and one assist.

Liberty's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for Hemet, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty will challenge Orange Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hemet, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Vista Murrieta at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
