Baseball Recap: Banning Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Banning owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They skirted past the Arroyo Valley Hawks 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Banning's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Eisman, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Eisman a new career-high.

The victory (which was Banning's seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Arroyo Valley, they moved to 7-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Banning will welcome Cathedral City at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cathedral City has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.9 runs per game on average), something Banning will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Arroyo Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Rim of the World at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Arroyo Valley's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
