Basketball Recap: West Iron County Takes a Loss

West Iron County lost against Negaunee back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The West Iron County Wykons were beaten by the Negaunee Miners 69-36. While losing is never fun, the Wykons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 533rd, while the Miners are ranked 151st).

West Iron County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Negaunee, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

West Iron County will face off against Kingsford at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Negaunee, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Hancock at 7:15 p.m. Negaunee is facing Hancock at the right time seeing as Hancock is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
