The Senatobia Warriors will head out to take on the Lafayette Commodores at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Senatobia turned things around against Strayhorn on Thursday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 9-4.
Kelsey Hoffman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Anna Hollis Faulkner was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Maci Claire Moore also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Lafayette waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over the Wildcats. The Commodores might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by ten runs or more this season.
Like Senatobia, Lafayette also got a great game from a two-way player: Sydney Cregar. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Cregar has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braleigh Crowe, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Mary Madison Kelley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Lafayette was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .370 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Lafayette pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Senatobia, their record is now 5-6.
Senatobia might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Lafayette when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Senatobia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
