The Irvington Vikings will take on the Moreau Catholic Mariners at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Irvington is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Irvington and Newark Memorial, and Newark Memorial kept the tradition alive. The Vikings fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 25-19 in the first set.

Irvington actually scored more points across those five sets (114-113), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-22, 28-26, 23-25, 18-16.

Meanwhile, Moreau Catholic came up short against American on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Moreau Catholic was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 25-18.

Irvington's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Moreau Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-15.
