Softball Recap: Ten Straight Home Wins for King's Academy

King's Academy won the last time they faced Milpitas and things went their way on Thursday too. The King's Academy Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the Milpitas Trojans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Mia Bennette made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Bennette was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabelle (Izzy) Barrera, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Thompson, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

King's Academy pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Milpitas, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King's Academy will welcome Mission College Prep at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Milpitas, they will face off against Piedmont Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
