Football Recap: Calexico Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Calexico extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-3. They were outmatched by the Imperial Tigers and fell 34-6. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Calexico lost, don't look at Andre Lopez. Despite the final result, he rushed for 100 yards and one TD, and also picked up 42 receiving yards.

As for Imperial, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their ten-point performance the game before.

A big part of Imperial's victory came down to the chemistry between Gio Robles and his top target Santonio Urena. Robles picked up 201 receiving yards and a pair of scores while Urena threw for 267 yards and three touchdowns.

Calexico will look to defend their home field on Friday against Central at 7:00 p.m. The Spartans' defense has only allowed 14.8 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Imperial, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brawley at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
