Baseball Recap: Ripley's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Ripley's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Haywood Tomcats. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

John MacLin was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Alex Caldwell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Ripley's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Haywood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-17.

Looking ahead, Ripley will square off against Milan at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Haywood, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fayette Ware at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
