Baseball Game Preview: Antelope Valley Antelopes vs. Eastside Lions

For the second straight game, Antelope Valley will face off against Eastside. The Antelopes will be playing at home against the Lions at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Antelope Valley's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five contests, but Friday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Antelope Valley came up short against Eastside on Wednesday, falling 12-2.

For Eastside's part, Asa Yneztrosa was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Yneztrosa a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Kenneth Ortiz was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Keenan Salvador, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Eastside's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-10-1. As for Antelope Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
