Baseball Recap: Irondequoit Takes a Loss

Irondequoit lost to Fairport back in May of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles fell 8-3 to the Red Raiders. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly five runs.

Irondequoit saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Spitz, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Irondequoit and nudges their season record down to 10-5. As for Fairport, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-0.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Irondequoit will challenge rival Webster Schroeder at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Fairport is set to square off against their familiar foe Penfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
