Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kohen Pochop and Landon Schoenberger Lead Cheylin to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Logan/Palco, Cheylin was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They took down the Wauneta-Palisade Broncos 51-36. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Broncos, too.

Cheylin was led to victory by Landon Schoenberger and Kohen Pochop. Schoenberger posted 20 points and five assists, while Pochop earned 15 points along with six boards and three steals. With that strong performance, Schoenberger is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Wright, who posted eight points.

Cheylin now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Wauneta-Palisade, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheylin will host Northern Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wauneta-Palisade, they will welcome Hitchcock County on Friday.
