Football Game Preview: Moore Lions vs. Norman Tigers

Moore is 7-2 against Norman since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lions will face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Moore is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Friday, Moore ended up a good deal behind Deer Creek and lost 35-21.

Moore's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ozias Adams, who gained 213 total yards and three touchdowns, and Maverick Gardner, who rushed for 116 yards and two TDs on only 14 carries. Gardner got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 59 yards. Moore also got help from Landis Greene, who showed off his sure hands for 87 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, Moore's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Braylen Herron was especially locked on to Deer Creek's QB and sacked him twice.

Norman never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Enid on Friday. They blew past the Plainsmen, posting a 56-14 win. The game marked the Tigers' most dominant victory of the season.

Norman's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.7 points over those games. As for Moore, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Moore came up short against Norman in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 42-35. Thankfully for the Lions, Phoenix Murphy (who rushed for 69 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries, and also threw for 297 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
