Baseball Recap: Lockport's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lockport hadn't done well against Lincoln-Way East recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Porters came out on top against the Griffins by a score of 4-1. Winning may never get old, but the Porters sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Lockport got a great performance from Martin Kinnane as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Kinnane a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, Lockport's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Drew Satunas, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Joey DalPonte was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

Lockport's record is now 19-9. As for Lincoln-Way East, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 21-8.

Lockport will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Griffins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
