Football Recap: Gore Takes a Loss

Gore had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-3 to make it six. They had to suffer through a 61-7 loss at the hands of the Talihina Golden Tigers. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

As for Talihina, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.4 points on average this season.

Landen Griffith produced another solid performance throwing for 519 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 65 yards and one score on only five carries. Those six passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Talihina's leading receiver Noah Lloyd was Griffith's top target yet again, picking up 280 receiving yards and three TDs.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gore is set to take on their familiar foe Regent Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Talihina will square off against rival Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
