Softball Recap: Central Arkansas Christian Wins Going Away Against White County Central

Central Arkansas Christian barely beat White County Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Bears on Thursday. The Mustangs not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 3rd (when they won 17-3).

Kayla Myers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Myers was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two triples, and three runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Central Arkansas Christian got a big performance out of Alyssa Jansen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Delaney Huffman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Central Arkansas Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 13.2.

The win made it two in a row for Central Arkansas Christian and bumps their season record up to 6-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for White County Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Looking ahead, Central Arkansas Christian will face off against Mt. Vernon-Enola at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. White County Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
