Basketball Recap: Brenham Piles Up the Points Against King

Brenham entered their tilt with King on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the King Brahmas 72-44. Given the Cubs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while the Brahmas are ranked 838th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brenham has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for King, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Brenham will take on Victoria East in a tournament on Friday. As for King, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cornerstone Christian at 2:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
