Softball Recap: Central Noble Triumphs

Central Noble extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Woodlan. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Warriors. Give the Cougars' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Grace Swank was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 20 over nine innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 22 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kaitlyn Tilley was excellent, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May. Molly Mann was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Central Noble's record is now 18-7. As for Woodlan, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 16-7 record.

Looking ahead, Central Noble will square off against Western Boone at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Stars will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. Woodlan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
