Baseball Recap: New Way Learning Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Ajo

New Way Learning Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They came up short against the Ajo Red Raiders, falling 18-8. On the bright side, the eight- run effort marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring game to date.

Alex Seckler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Erik Johnson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

As for Ajo, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-7. The result was nothing new for the Red Raiders, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

On Ajo's side, they let Jarett Moore and Emilio Cubillas run wild. Moore went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Cubillas went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Moore has become a key player for Ajo: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Izemier Alvarez, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

New Way Learning Academy has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Trinity Christian on the 23rd. As for Ajo, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-2 defeat against Wickenburg Christian Academy on the 23rd.
