Basketball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Modoc's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Modoc unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 59-46 to the Trinity Wolves. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-40 back in December of 2024.

Modoc lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sutton Cockrell, who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points and six boards. Chris Guasp was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Trinity got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryker Robles out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Robles is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Wesley Dresselhaus, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards.

Modoc's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-9. As for Trinity, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Modoc will welcome Weed at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Modoc is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season. As for Trinity, they will head out to square off against Mt. Shasta at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 60.1 points per game.
