Basketball Recap: Parish Hill's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Parish Hill extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Julie Millerd. The Parish Hill Pirates strolled past the Capital Prep/Classical Magnet/Achievement First Trailblazers with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 45-31 thanks in part to Millerd, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 14 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Parish Hill's points.

Another player making a difference was Hannah Becker, who posted six points in addition to 12 rebounds and six blocks. She has been hot, having posted three or more blocks the last seven times she's played.

Parish Hill pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.4 points over those games. As for Capital Prep/Classical Magnet/Achievement First, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Coming up, Parish Hill will face off against Bridgeport International Academy/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Bridgeport International Academy/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering's defense has only allowed 23.9 points per game this season, so Parish Hill's offense will have their work cut out for them. Capital Prep/Classical Magnet/Achievement First does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
